About the Physician ...
Dr. James C. Wasson was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley. He graduated in 1989 magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College in Allentown and graduated in 1993 from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.  He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown in 1996. Dr. Wasson has been practicing for nearly 30 years and is board certified in Internal Medicine.  Dr. Wasson has experience practicing for a hospital, a group practice and privately. Dr. Wasson was the Nazareth Area School District Physician for many years.

His hopes and dreams were to be a small-town doctor, and that is very much what his practice is all about. Since being a solo Internist in Nazareth, he has shown commitment, compassion and respect to all of his patients, while providing personalized healthcare. He will take his time to answer all patient questions and concerns. Dr. Wasson offers comprehensive healthcare for adolescents, adults and geriatrics which include prevention, diagnosis and medical treatment of chronic or acute illnesses. He offers wellness education to prevent disease. 

Dr. Wasson enjoys his time outside of work being outdoors, traveling and biking and spending time with his wife and their four daughters. He now has a grandson that he will spoil any chance he gets.

As of July 2019, Dr. Wasson joined Medical Associates of the Lehigh Valley (MATLV), a group of other physicians in private practice.

About the Practice ...

The office is open Monday thru Friday at 8:00 am for the scheduling of appointments and to answer any of your questions or concerns. Your health and wellness is the #1 priority of this office. We will assist you in setting up follow up appointments, scheduling procedures, and the scheduling of appointments with specialists.

Referrals ...

Please refer to your insurance plan manual for your referral policy. Referrals to specialists for new patients will be authorized only after an initial visit. We require one week for the processing of referrals for routine visits. Emergency referrals will be done on a case by case basis. Most insurances participate with electronic submission. Once completed, your referral will be able to be accessed by your specialist via their secure electronic access.

Refills...

Refills will be done during our regular office hours. Please allow 24-48 hour prior to going to pharmacy.  If you are leaving a message on our automated phone system, make sure you leave your name, phone number, prescription, and your pharmacy name and location. Prescription refills are determined by the physician. Depending on the prescription, if too much time has elapsed from your last appointment we will ask you to come in for a visit in order for the prescription to be refilled.  

After hours...

Dr. Wasson usually takes after-hour and emergency calls by himself. Referrals, refills, and new prescriptions will only be authorized during office hours. When leaving a message for Dr Wasson, make sure to leave your name and call back number.

Insurances

We participate with most health insurance plans. If you are unsure if we accept your insurance, please call your health plan directly to see if Dr. Wasson is a participating provider.  We will collect your insurance information when you call to set up an appointment and at the time of the visit we will copy your cards.  We will do our best to help you determine your insurance plan's coverage, however it is your responsibility to know your insurance plan and its coverage. We will gladly submit the insurance claim.

Payment

If you do not have any insurance, payment for the service will be due at the time of your visit. Most insurances require you to pay a copay which will be collected at time of registration. If you have any questions regarding your bill or an outstanding balance we can collect payment at the office or you may call billing at 610-973-1410 (M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm) to speak with an account representative.

We accept cash, check and most major credit cards for your convenience.
